Position Summary

Consultants who can support a variety of deliverables related to monitoring, evaluation and learning in the peacebuilding field.

      Your contribution

      We are developing a roster of consultants who have experience conducting field research for M&E in peacebuilding, supporting projects that touch on a variety of topics including, but not limited to:

      • Conflict analysis
      • Media
      • Gender
      • Arts-based approaches to peacebuilding
      • Counter Violent Extremism

      Depending on agreed upon deliverables for specific requirements, roles are responsibilities may include:

      • Providing expert review of studies to ensure a high level of quality around thematic areas
      • Developing tools and methodologies that respond to needs of the organization
      • Conducting literature reviews, analyses and assessments
      • Attending and supporting internal discussions that capture best practices and lessons learned in the field of peacebuilding
      • Conducting research and/or trainings (possible travel necessary)
      • Writing and finalizing high quality evaluations or studies with evidence-based arguments and effective recommendations for programming.

      Education

      • M.A. in International Development, Conflict Management, or related field required

      Experience

      • At least 3 years relevant work experience, including program design and/or monitoring and evaluation
      • At least two years of experience in the peacebuilding field

      Competencies

      • At least 3 years relevant work experience, including program design and/or monitoring and evaluation
      • At least two years of experience in the peacebuilding field
      • Excellent English writing skills
      • Passion for peacebuilding and interest in continuing to build the field of DME & peacebuilding
      • M.A. in International Development, Conflict Management, or related field required
      • High standards of integrity, professionalism, and impartiality

      • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and work to meet tight deadlines


      Desirable:

      • M.A. in International Development, Conflict Management, or related field

      Travel:

      • Some deliverables may require travel. Applicants should specify their interest in providing in-field support, if they are available to do so.

      Location: Flexible

      Compensation: The consultant will bill as per a daily rate, according to an agreed-upon estimate of the time required to complete the work. This rate will be set for one year.

      Duration & start date: Work will be conducted based on identified deliverables in projects and negotiated upon availability.
