Position Summary
The CSA Program intern will support the team in providing programmatic and logistical support to Search’s projects in the region.
Central & Southern Africa Programs
Search for Common Ground implements more than 20 peacebuilding and conflict transformation programs throughout Central and Southern Africa. From working with journalists and government officials in Central African Republic to stop the spread of hate speech, engaging security forces and civilians in the Democratic Republic of Congo to rebuild trust and restore human security, to facilitating engagement between mining companies and local communities in Madagascar, our programs help to create a space where actors from across dividing lines can work collaboratively to address conflicts and reduce violence. Search’s Central and Southern Africa (CSA) portfolio includes Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Madagascar. The Summer internship begins in May and typically lasts at least three months.
The position is based in Search’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. There is no expected travel.

Salary: This internship is unpaid. School credits can be arranged for students with their institution. For international applicants, Search is not responsible for providing student or work visas; you will need to make your own visa arrangements.
Hours: This position requires a commitment of no less than twenty hours a week.
